La nostra storia è iniziata nel 1896 quando l’innovativo Price Brothers ha fondato la loro azienda manifatturiera di terracotta a Crown Works, Burslem, specializzata in accessori da tavola e teiere. I fratelli divennero rapidamente famosi per il loro design distintivo. Our story started back in 1896 when the innovative Price Brothers founded their earthenware manufacturing company in Crown Works, Burslem, specialising in tabletop accessories and teapots. The brothers quickly became renowned for their distinctive designs. Through their hard work and dedication the Price Brothers brand saw rapid success and in 1934 they moved to the Top Bridge Works in Longport, where they became known as Price Bros Ltd.During their time at the Top Bridge Works, the brothers developed a strong working bond with Kensington Potteries, who specialised in novelty teapots. This bond grew so strong that the two companies eventually merged in 1962 to become known as Price & Kensington®.

La teiera “Brown Betty” è stata creata a Stoke on Trent; il cuore delle ceramiche britanniche nel 1800. L’argilla rossa estratta localmente è stata utilizzata per la sua convenienza e le sue qualità durevoli. L’argilla era anche nota per trattenere il calore, perfetta per le teiere! La forma rotonda denominata “Betty” consente alle foglie di tè di vorticare liberamente intorno alla teiera, rilasciando i sapori e infondendo la miscela perfetta. Lo smalto è “Manganese Brown” sviluppato dal marchese di Rockingham. La forma e il colore dello smalto sono stati infine combinati per dare alla nostra iconica teiera il nome di “Brown Betty”. Questa teiera è diventata un classico inglese ed è molto usata come oggetto quotidiano nella vita moderna.

The ‘Brown Betty’ teapot was created in Stoke on Trent; the heart of British potteries in the 1800’s. Locally quarried red clay was used due to its affordability and durable qualities. The clay was also well known for retaining heat – perfect for teapots! The round shape referred to as ‘Betty’ allows tea leaves to swirl freely around the pot, releasing the flavours and infusing the perfect brew. The glaze is ‘Manganese Brown’ which was developed by the Marquis of Rockingham. The shape and glaze colour were eventually combined to give our iconic teapot its name of ‘Brown Betty’. This teapot has become an English classic and is very much used as an everyday item in modern day living.
